Call me crazy, but.....
Do you not think it might have been an idea to know the 'facts' before killing 15,000 Iraqis?
BBC NEWS | World | Americas | Bush wants 'facts' on Iraqi WMD: "US President George W Bush has said he wants to 'know the facts' about Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction. "
Popped Clog: Barry White
Popped Clog: Barry White:
From last year's Barry White obit:
"Barry leaves behind eight children. They are...
- Deniece
- La nece
- Nina
- Shehera
- Barriana
- Barry Jr.
- Darrell
- McKevin (Would you like fries with that?)
It is to Barry's eternal credit that he managed to select three of the 10 worst names of all time."
Laugh along with Scary...
Scaryduck: Not Scary. Not A Duck.:
"In the meantime, the latest bike news.
Monday: Scary bike stolen, reported to insurers and police, who are all very nice about it.
Tuesday: Insurers - 'We'll get a replacement bike to you tomorrow.' Me - 'Coo.'
Wednesday: Insurers - 'Errr... your new bike. Ha ha. You'll laugh... it was stolen from the depot. Sorry.' Me - 'You bunch of cocks.'
You couldn't make it up."
I'm not very good at putting the right words together sometimes.
Fortunately, Tim is much betterer at it than me. Read his thoughts on the future of the BBC here, and then dust off your html skillz and drop the logo onto your page, like I have on the right.
We need the BBC. It does wonders for people, it entertains, it educates, it has been responsible for 95% of British Comedy for the past 30 years (well, the funny stuff anyway) and on the whole I think we are better for it.
This was brought to you by Mark. Able to do this due to the unique way he is funded ;-)

"never in history has a Law Lord conducted an inquiry with an anti-government outcome. Too late are the recent revelations of doubts in the evidence Lord Hutton took as fact. Three senior medical experts have cast doubt on the 'suicide' of Dr Kelly, according to ThisIsLondon - a subject I harped on about a couple of months ago.
But it's all too late now, isn't it?"
Yes, it is Wibbler.

BBC NEWS | Politics | Dyke casts doubt on Hutton report
'Tessa Jowell' and the word 'Dyke' in the same headline:
"And she said the 2007 review of the BBC's Charter would have a far bigger remit than the Hutton Inquiry had had.
Ms Jowell issued an appeal for all sides to move on, and sought to calm worries the government could use the Hutton report to create a more subservient BBC.
'A BBC that is nobody's lapdog, that challenges government and raises debate - that is in all our interests,' she said. "
Well, if they do challenge Government they get slapped so hard they don't do it again for some time. Our current Government simply doies not allow anyone to criticise it. They complain that people are 'impugning the credibility of the Prime Minister'. Well, that's what journalists do in a free society.
Oh, and Alistair Campbell repeatedly said 'when i was in Government' during recent interviews. Mr Campbell, you were *never* in Govenrment. You were a Civil Servant. Not elected to your role never mind elected to represent a constituency in Her Majecty's Government.
Wanker.

Seumas Milne: The shadow of Iraq
Guardian Unlimited Politics | Special Reports | Seumas Milne: The shadow of Iraq:
"Hutton's report could scarcely have been more favourable if it had been drafted, or even sexed up, by Tony Blair's former spinmeister Alastair Campbell himself. The prime minister certainly knew his man when he appointed the one-time Diplock court judge to head the inquiry into Dr Kelly's death. "

Fees fear for trainee teachers
BBC NEWS | Education | Fees fear for trainee teachers:
"'Student teachers are likely to be particularly disadvantaged.
'Their starting salaries will be just enough to start paying back their debts but most will never earn the kind of salaries that Tony Blair has promised graduates.'
The planned changes would most hit those doing four-year Bachelor of Education degrees - who made up 23% of the 31,387 people who entered teacher training this year.
Already they do not benefit from the £6,000 bursaries on offer for people doing a post-graduate education certificate.
'This is likely to decimate the undergraduate teaching courses,' Ms Bousted said.
'This will further damage recruitment into teaching because these courses play a vital part in widening access into the profession.' "
Well, we don't need teachers, do we? Naw, we can get by with accountants.

President Bush Speaks with Nation's Mayors at Winter Meeting:
"Then you wake up at the high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children are appalling."
Sweet irony.

Government 'paying its own fines'
BBC NEWS | Health | Government 'paying its own fines':
"Hampshire County Council received £1.2m from the Department of Health to help it improve services for patients stuck in hospital and pay the bed-blocking fines.
In the first two weeks in January, it was fined £12,000. The council has had to employ 19 extra people to deal with the paperwork associated with these fines at a cost of £500,000. "
1. This story is madness. Read it again.
2. Hiring 19 people costs £500,000? Where? I make that £26000 per person, per month. Where do I sign?

Actually, it doesn't, not yet anyway. Approx 100,000,000 infected e-mails so far, will probably overtake the 300,000,000 sobig mark sometime in the next 2 days. Then it launches its DOS attack on Monday.

When the machine gets infected, the worm will set up a backdoor into the system by opening TCP ports 3127 thru 3198. This will potentially allow a hacker to connect to the machine and utilize it as a proxy to gain access to it's network resources. In addition, the backdoor has the ability to download and execute arbitrary files.
I guess this is why my Norton updated itself this am.
